This particular attic was low on insulation, resulting in hot/cold spots throughout the home. As you can tell by our insulation rulers in the photo, this attic was measuring in with an approximate R-value of R19. Per the US Department of Energy, the minimum code for newly built homes in our North Carolina climate zone is R38. Logan Home Energy Services came in and installed a thick blanket of blown-in cellulose insulation to reach an average of R49 and even higher in some areas of the attic. This house is now well above the minimum code requirements for insulation and will be more comfortable and efficient for many years to come!
